Setting New Standards in Egg Grading with SANOVO Technology

When the time came to modernize their egg grading facility, FERMY DROBIU JOKIEL (JOKIEL POULTRY FARMS), located in western Poland, needed a partner who could deliver full automation, high hygiene standards, and reliable performance. SANOVO was selected to support the upgrade with a complete egg handling and grading solution.

As production volumes increased, Jokiel required a solution that could handle high-capacity throughput while maintaining full egg traceability. At the same time, they needed a smoother, more automated operational flow that reduced manual handling and allowed the business to scale.
"We needed a better and faster system," says Jakub Jokiel, Technical Director at Fermy Jokiel. "It had to be durable and easy to work with."
The process now begins with the De-Palletizer 600, a six-axis robotic system with integrated vision technology that handles incoming pallets, trays, and interlayers. It corrects misalignments, minimizes manual tasks, and keeps the intake zone efficient and well-organized.

Advanced Egg Grading Technology

At the heart of the facility is the GraderPro 400, capable of grading up to 144,000 eggs per hour with full individual egg tracking. Eggs are disinfected with UV light, inspected for leaks and dirt using advanced camera systems, and checked for cracks via a piezoelectric detection system — which includes a fully CIP-cleanable option for hygiene-critical environments.
Off-grade eggs are automatically removed, and operators can adjust sorting criteria to match different customer or market requirements.
"With the GraderPro, we can follow every egg," Jakub explains. "It helps us with food safety and gives better control."

Efficient End-of-Line Packing

After grading, eggs are packed using SANOVO Case Packer Twins, designed for high-capacity operations and a wide variety of pack formats. The modular construction ensures flexibility, and each unit can be managed by a single operator — reducing labor while maintaining throughput.
A spiral elevator conveyor moves filled cases through a compact layout, supporting an efficient and safe production flow. The system is also ready for future integration with automatic palletizing, giving Fermy Jokiel room to grow.

Ready for the Future

Since implementing the SANOVO solution, Fermy Jokiel has achieved better operational control, improved hygiene, and greater efficiency throughout the plant.
"SANOVO helped us build a modern and smart factory," Jakob concludes. "We are ready for the future."
At SANOVO, we’re proud to support forward-thinking producers like Fermy Jokiel as they grow and strengthen their position in the egg industry.
